1912 – 2013

RUMFORD — Gertrude S. Penseiro, 100, died Friday, March 29. She resided in Rumford.

She was born in Rumford, on Nov. 19, 1912, the daughter of Charles F. Stevens and Rose Stevens Swain. She was a graduate of Stephens High School, in the Class of 1931 and Bliss Business College in 1934. She was a member of the Rumford United Methodist Church, The Mary and Martha Club and WOWS. She was formerly employed by the Oxford Paper Company, Rumford Bank and Trust Company and, for many years, associated with her husband in the accounting business and Pacios, Rausch and Company, until her retirement in 1980.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Penseiro; daughter, Frances E. Penseiro; and sister, Mabel W. Stevens.

She is survived by her daughter and husband, Elaine and George Porter of South Harwich, Mass.; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren; also a daughter-like family friend, Rita Woods.
