LEWISTON — Submissions are open for Through the Lens, a photography competition and exhibit sponsored by Lyceum Gallery. The exhibit is open to all photographers with a year-round or seasonal Maine address. There is a special category for students in high school or younger. All submissions must be made online at www.lyceumgallery.com/Blog/page/Call-to-Artists.aspx.

Photographers may enter one or more categories with a maximum of four photo entries. Each photo may only be entered in one category. The categories are:

Black and White: no color in the image.

Color: including normal adjustments to color, contrast and minor cloning.

Computer Composed: digital or traditional scanned images manipulated or collaged in a photo editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop; artistic or painterly images created using photo editing tools; the addition of original art drawn or created from scratch in a photo editing program.

Student: high school and younger.

There will be cash prizes of $200, $100 and $75 for each of the first three categories. Cash prizes for the student category are $100, $75 and $50.

Through the Lens will run from June 14 through Aug. 2. The deadline for submissions is midnight, May 8.
