University of Southern Maine President Theodora Kalikow speaks Wednesday on the Lewiston-Auburn campus at a gathering of solidarity with the people of Boston. “This is a life-changing event for a lot of people,” she said. After a moment of silence, Kalikow read a poem, “How Things Are Today” by Sally Boland, and allowed those gathered to share their thoughts on Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings.
