NAHANT, Mass. — Elaine Mary (LeBlanc) Murphy, 42, of Auburn, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 1, at the Jesmond Nursing Home in Nahant.

Elaine was born in Boston on May 31, 1970, and is the beloved daughter of Josephine A. Capano. She was raised in Lynn and attended Lynn Schools. Elaine later moved to Auburn.

She was a free-spirited person who laughed a lot and enjoyed life. Elaine was also an adventurous camper who loved the people, land and animals of Maine; she especially loved photographing nature.

Elaine leaves a daughter, Mary Mitchell of Haverhill, Mass.; a son, Michael Murphy of Hartford; her beloved granddaughters, Athanasia, Siobhan and Alexis; two brothers, Michael LeBlanc and his wife, Stacey, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Scott LeBlanc and his wife, Lisa, of Middleton, Mass.; a sister, Anne Westberry of Maine; and three dear friends, Krisanne Blake of Melrose, Mass., Jennifer McQuarry of Rowley, Mass., and Paul Briggs of Auburn. Elaine also had many nieces and nephews.
