AUBURN — Eric S. Hewett, 32, of Hazel Street, died unexpectedly on May 4, at his home.

He was born in Augusta, March 18, 1981, the son of Stephen Hewett and Sheila Lynn (Baker) Hewett. Eric was a graduate of Cony High School of Augusta and attended Washington County Community College.

Eric was employed as a cook by various restaurants for several years. Most recently, he worked at Mac’s Grill and the Pizza Joint.

Surviving is his father, Stephen Hewett of Somerville; his mother, Sheila Lynn Hewett Vigue of St. Petersburg, Fla.; fiancée, Erica Gortmans of Auburn; maternal grandparents, Sharon and Norman Baker of Augusta; stepbrothers, Derek Vigue of Farmingdale and Phillip Willett of Windsor; stepsisters, Dawn Mitchell and Jessica Willett, both of Bath; special cousin, Brianna Baker of Vassalboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eric was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Elwyn Hewett Sr. and Alena Hewett.
