RUMFORD — Pauline M. Robichaud, 102, of Rumford, died Tuesday, May 14, at the Rumford Hospital, Rumford.

Pauline was born in Dixfield, on Dec. 13, 1910, the daughter of Grover Cleveland Frost and Jessie Bonney Frost, and graduated from Dixfield High School with the Class of 1930.

She worked for Diamond International Corporation in West Peru in the clothespin production department for many years until retirement. She also co-owned and operated P & J Ceramics of Peru for many years.

Pauline was just awarded the “Remember Me” placque. The Rumford Community Home had chosen Pauline to enter the annual “Remember Me” program held by the Maine Health Care Association. She was one of 44 entrants throughout the state and received honorable mention, receiving a plaque at the state house in Augusta on April 12. She was the oldest resident in the Rumford Community Home and was one of the most active. She read the daily newspaper and did the crossword puzzle each day, knitted and crocheted and wrote letters to family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved to play bingo, attended weekly Catholic Mass, and was a member of the Resident Council and made items for the annual craft fair and would occasionally play the piano. She made several jigsaw puzzles that are now hanging in the dining room.

Pauline was a Communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church; a member of St. Joseph’s Guild; and a member of Rockemeka Grange. Pauline loved spending time with her family.

She was married in Mexico on Nov. 23, 1931 to J. Anthony Robichaud, who died in Lewiston on Nov. 10, 1983.

Survivors include daughters, Lorraine Legere of Peru and Virginia “Ginny” Palmer of Shawmut; a son, John A. Robichaud and wife, Patti, of Jay; 17 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren; and was predeceased by her parents, husband, son, James Robichaud; daughter, Marie Suzanne Robichaud; brothers, Harold, Oscar and Grover Frost Jr.; and sisters, Emily Degerstrom and Frances Frost.
