1939 – 2013

AUBURN — Leo J. Dubay, 73, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, May 22, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn.

He was born in Van Buren on June 10, 1939, a son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Violette) Dubay. Leo graduated Van Buren High School in 1957, MVTI in 1959 and Ricker College in 1976. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

After the war, he married Rolande (St. Amand) on Sept. 2, 1965. For many years, he operated a radio station in Caribou.

He leaves his wife, Rolande Dubay of South Portland; two sons, Leo Dubay and his companion, Kettric Midura, of Massachusetts, and Jean-Pierre Dubay and Ana of Lewiston; two daughters, Rose Dubay of South Portland, and Monica Dubay and her husband, Frank MacKinnon, of South Portland; two brothers, Edward Dubay Jr. of Van Buren, and Guy Dubay and his wife, Ernestine, of Madawaska; four sisters, Theresa Lachapel and husband, Andrew, of Connecticut, Imelda Hargar and husband, Leon, of Michigan, Sr. Rose Marie Dubay of Connecticut, and Anne Trumbley of Florida; and three grandchildren, Ilana MacKinnon, Isaac MacKinnon and Jacqueline Dubay, all of South Portland.
