1940 – 2013

AUBURN — Harry L. Swan, 73, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn after a long illness. His daughter, Melissa Burnham, son, Chris Swan his girlfriend, Amanda, and grandson, Chris, were at his side.

Harry was born on Jan. 24, 1940, in Auburn to parents Melissa Porter and Walter Swan. He enjoyed a variety of activities throughout his life, including fishing, hunting, camping and collecting fiddleheads, as well as visiting flea markets and yard sales.

He is survived by his brothers, Frank, Walter, John, Harvey and Wesley; sisters, Beverly and Madeline; children, Jim, Mellissa, Bill, Priscilla, Pam, Kim, Christopher and another son; and Karna Reed, who was like a daughter to him. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, Melissa Porter and Walter Swan; brother, Jack; and sisters, Betsy and Lillian.
