NORWAY — The 6th Norway Triathlon will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 13, centered at Pennesseewassee Park. Sanctioned by the USATriathlon, it is a perfect sprint tri for experienced athletes and for first time competitors. The event includes a 1K swim, 18K bike and 5K run.

Proceeds from the triathlon are directed towards trail projects at Roberts Farm Preserve. For online tri registration visit www.active.com.

Anyone interested in seeing the excitement of a triathlon while assisting the Western Foothills Land Trust should consider volunteering for the morning. Helpers are needed on the run and bike courses, as well as additional kayakers. To volunteer contact [email protected] or 739-2124.

The tri is scheduled for the same day as the 46th Norway Sidewalk Art Show which begins at 9 a.m. on Main Street. The latter will include performances, library used book sale, food and more. All Norway Sidewalk Art Show events are free and open to all ages. Norway’s Main Street will be closed Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
