CANAAN — Gerald Leroy Turner, 83, went on to be with the Lord, peacefully with his wife by his side while at his home in Canaan, Friday, May 31.

Gerald was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Auburn, a son of Ralph E. Tuner and Alice Purrington Turner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force as well as a beloved husband and father.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Rita of 62 years; five children, Douglas Turner, Deborah Perkins, Cynthia Goldrick, Gerald L. Turner Jr. and Richard Turner and their spouses; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Latricia of Greene; a sister-in-law, Laura of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
