Lobster roll supper June 13

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will hold a public lobster roll supper on Thursday, June 13, at the Church annex on High Street from 5 p.m. until sold out.

The menu will be 100 percent lobster meat rolls or chicken salad rolls, potato or macaroni salad, cole slaw, dessert and beverage. The cost for adults will be $8 for lobster, $6.50 for chicken; children under 12 will be half the price.

Take outs are available by calling ahead to 562-4582 and leaving a message or letting us know when you come in that you would like take out.

Rumford Area Quilters meeting

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters’ last meeting for the season will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street.

Following a “mini quilt show,” tea, cookies and make-your-own ice cream sundaes will be enjoyed. For more information call 562-7050.

Snowshoe Club dance canceled

RUMFORD — The dance for June 15 at the Snowshoe Club with Hot Flash has been canceled.

Wellness Center 5K is June 16

DIXFIELD — The RSU 10 Wellness Center will hold their third annual 5K on Sunday, June 16. The Gym Rat Race will begin at 9 a.m. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m.

Registration fee is $15 in advance or $20 on race day, with shirts for the first 50 entrants.

The Wellness Center in the school district’s central office building on Nash Street opened several years ago with funding from a PEP grant with the goal to encourage fitness and health in the school and eventually opened its doors for community members.

Proceeds from the race will go to maintaining gym equipment and providing a part-time attendant. The gym is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The attendant is available from 2 to 7 p.m.

Classes such as Zumba and spinning are also offered.

Mexico High Class of 1960

PARIS — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 from Rumford will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Market Square restaurant in South Paris.

Neighborly Seniors meet

PERU — The Neighborly Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the old Peru School.

The summer menu of salads and sandwiches for the potluck lunch will be enjoyed after the meeting. The dues are still $10; anyone 50 and over can join. People are invited to visit to see what the group does.

RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1958 will have their monthly luncheon at noon Wednesday, June 19, at Gatch’s Restaurant.
