Roberts will perform his high-energy hits and debut new songs from the forthcoming late July release, Recess. Roberts has been compared to Buddy Holly, Nick Lowe, Weezer and even Paul McCartney. Millions have seen him on The Today Show and Nick Jr., and one of his songs was featured on a World Series broadcast. Find out firsthand why he’s known as the “hardest working man in children’s show business.” A former Montessori preschool teacher, Roberts clearly remembers what it was like to be a kid – and his power pop sound will get everyone in the family on their feet, dancing and singing along.
Other performers in this noon-5 p.m. fun, family event include Audiobody, Yo Yo People, David Wax Museum and The Pop Ups.
The next event, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, will be a concert by three talented Maine bands — Amy Allen, Endless Interstate and Pete Kilpatrick Band.
Other concerts this summer include Diane Birch, North of Nashville and Lake Street Dive performing in July and The Head and The Heart, Guster, Tristan Prettyman, Joshua Radin performing in August.
All concerts start at 7:30 p.m. and are in L.L.Bean’s Discovery Park, just outside the Flagship Store, Main Street. They are are open to the public and free. In the event of inclement weather, concerts may be cancelled.
