LEWISTON — Marie D. “Jane” Spearrin of Marshwood HCF, formerly of 74 Lake Auburn Ave., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, with her loving family at her side at Central Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.
Marie was born March 27, 1927, in Winslow, to Clovis and Delima (Ouellette). Marie was educated in Lewiston schools earning her GED at age 60. On Dec. 24, 1958, Marie married Ralph R. Spearrin Sr. (predeceased 1988) of Bingham. They were married in East Hartford, Conn., where they made their home for many years returning to Maine in the early 1970s, making their home in the Sabattus and Lewiston areas.
Marie worked at Pratt and Whitney with her husband for many years before returning to Maine. She was then employed as a partner with her husband as food service owner at the New England Telephone Co. until her husband’s retirement. She retired from working at local factories in 1989. Marie enjoyed reading and playing cards and most of all spending time with her adoring and loving family.
Marie is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Georgette) Comeau of Connecticut, Mrs. Muriel Saindon of Deer Isle and her little sister, Mrs. Jacqueline Ogard of California; one son, William “Bill” D. Spearrin and wife, Dawn; two stepsons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Gene and Gladys Spearrin and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph “Reggie” and Charli Spearrin Jr.; grandchildren, Bill Jr., Ashley, Samantha, Terry, Ann-Dee and Tammy; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Clovis R. Denis; and his wife, Terry (Comeau) Denis.
