SAD 52 Adult Education has received a Rural and Urban School Grant to purchase a Tanberg videoconferencing equipment that will allow staff and students to connect in real time to programs and other participants around the world. The equipment includes a 55-inch TV, Cisco codec, video camera and Apple TV. These are all mounted on a cart, specific to house the large screen TV, conferencing equipment, speakers and microphone, which allows the unit to be moved between classrooms, as needed. In some SAD 52 schools, classes have connected to interactive lessons with teachers in other states countries, conducted “Book Buddy” sessions with students in both middle and primary schools in the district, joined JASON.org LIVE Events, and participated in virtual tours of museums.
