LEWISTON — A Lewiston woman was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on Wednesday night on charges that have stretched across the country.

According to a WMTW report, Carrie Richardson of Harpswell was arrested at her home Tuesday for thefts that occurred between January 2012 and January 2013 while Richardson served as a housekeeper at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston.

Richardson also is accused of stealing $45,000 from a Yamaha dealership and $100,000 from a youth football league in which she served as treasurer, according to the San Diego District Attorney’s Office. 

A warrant was issued for Richardson’s arrest by the Escondido Police Department in June 2012 for grand theft and fraudulent appropriation by a clerk or agent.

Richardson was being held on $100,000 bail.
