LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Yvette F. Dubé was celebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron in both French and English as a tribute to Yvette on Friday afternoon, Aug. 30, at Holy Cross Church, following prayers at Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The funeral procession, on its way to church, passed Yvette’s longtime home on Cassell Street in Lewiston before Mass.
At the beginning of Mass, Yvette’s grandsons draped their grandmother’s casket with a white burial pall that signifies Yvette’s baptism into a new spiritual life with God. During Mass, Yvette’s granddaughter, Christine Mederios, proclaimed the New Testament. The Prayer of the Faithful was recited by Yvette’s grandson, Daniel Dube. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Yvette’s grandson, Marc Dube, and Yvette’s great-granddaughter, Morgan Mederios.
At the conclusion of Mass, words of remembrance were shared by grandson, Joseph Dube, who recited the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi in both English and French, and Yvette’s daughter-in-law, Anita Dube, concluded with words describing just how meaningful Yvette was to her family and that Yvette will always remain a mentor to them throughout their lives.
Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, the Rev. Caron recited committal prayers which concluded services. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
