TURNER — The SAD 52 Adult Education fall schedule of enrichment classes gets underway the week of Sept. 16. There is a wide variety to choose from, including familiar favorites and many new ones.
Tumbling for students from beginner to advanced helps them to enhance coordination, strength, flexibility and balance. They can improve and refine skills while learning new moves and having fun. Tiny Tot Tumbling, ages 3 to 5, introduces basic mat skills in a structured environment.
Dog Obedience trains a dog to be well mannered and obedient. Learn basic obedience commands, leash walking and behavior modification. Dog Tricks teaches pushing a toy, waving and jumping through a hoop. For both classes, the dog must have current rabies shots.
Beacon Hospice Volunteer Training is free and teaches the history and philosophy of hospice, medical issues at the end of life, including pain and symptom management, communication, family dynamics, grief loss and spiritual care.
One Stroke Painting is a decorative style of painting that uses different types of brushes and basic strokes.
Zumba Fitness is for everyone. Modification will be provided so participants may work at their own pace.
Lots of Pots is a pottery class for beginners. Students experience all the parts of throwing on the potter’s wheel. Learn basic clay work and techniques and make pots.
Guitar for Beginners teaches the basic fundamentals including chords, theory, ear training, harmony and rhythm.
Welding addresses individual needs for beginner and advanced students and prepares for state certification. Steel-toe shoes/boots and safety glasses are required.
SAD 52 Sub Training is the first step in the substitute teacher application for the district. Discover school expectations, district support, lesson planning and classroom management skills. A high school diploma is required, college experience preferred.
