ANDOVER — The Ellis River Riders Horse Club will host a horsemanship clinic with Aaron Ralston on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Sept. 7, 8 and 9.

The clinic will be held at the newly constructed Lone Brook Farm, located on Fire Lane 810. The facility belongs to Dwight and Gloria Davis, club members, who donated the use of their indoor arena for the three-day clinic.

The clinic will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. It will be open to spectators for a full-day fee, a half-day fee, discounts for Andover residents and three-day discounts. Children under 12 will be free with any paid adult.

Lunch will be available Saturday and Sunday. Spectators are invited to bring a chair.

Ralston was born and raised on his family’s ranch in Western Colorado. Horses have influenced his life from his early rodeo career to his accomplishments in reining and working cow horse competitions all over the world.

He was the 2004 AQHA Senior Reining Reserve World Champion and in 2006, he was part of TEAM USA at the World Equestrian Games, held in Aachen, Germany. Riding Smart Paul Olena, Ralston led the team to a Team Gold Medal and took the Bronze Medal in the individual reining competition.

Ralston, his wife Meg and their two sons live in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley in Silt, Colo., where he runs a performance horse operation.
