DURHAM — Ronald and Edna Chase of Durham attended a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Bette and Larry Stackpole in Palmyra.

Among the more than 50 friends and relatives attending were Mr. Chase’s mother, Ellen Chase of Newport, Kathy Lupo and husband, Joe and family of Smithfield, daughter, Sandy Huntington and husband, George and family of Durham, son, Robert Webber and wife, Cheryl and family of Mechanic Falls and son, Scott Chase and wife, Dee Dee and family of Durham.

A golden wedding cake was made by granddaughter, Jessica Marking of Mechanic Falls. A DVD comprised of over 1,500 photos of their life during the past 50 years was composed by grandson, Derek Lupo, and was played throughout the afternoon.

The couple was married Dec. 31, 1963, at the Morse Baptist Church in Corinna, with the Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating. They have five children, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
