1928 – 2013

AUBURN — Janice Jones Rand, 85, formerly of Turner, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Clover Manor, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Berry Mills on April 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Walter T. and H. Pearl (Robertson) Jones. She attended grammar schools in Stratton and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1946.

Janice married Glenn W. Rand on July 11, 1947, and together they made their home in Auburn for 39 years. After her retirement from General Electric in 1990, they moved to Turner. Her hobbies were camping, crocheting, knitting and sewing for her family. She especially enjoyed fishing and gardening with her late husband.

She is survived by three sons, Glenn D. “Casey” Rand and his wife, Pat, of Minot, Daniel L. Rand and wife, Monica, of Hartford and Matthew D. Rand; four grandchildren, Lori Rioux and husband, Keith, Aaron Rand and wife, Christine, Jamie Poulin and husband, Nick, and Adam Rand and wife, Brandie; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn, in 2001; and a son, Warren, in 2006.
