LEWISTON — Meredith Kendall, a faculty member at the Central Maine Medical Center College of Nursing and Health Professions and reiki coordinator at The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, recently presented at the American Holistic Nurses Association’s international annual conference in Norfolk, Va.
Kendall presented a poster on the health benefits of reiki. She attended workshops on holistic nursing care, research, and grant implementation while at the conference. Erica Lovett, M.D., integrative family medicine physician and co-author of the poster, was unable to attend.
She presented results from an ongoing reiki research project at The Dempsey Center and on the oncology unit at Central Maine Medical Center. Kendall is the principal investigator for the research.
Kendall is a registered nurse who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. She is a reiki master and teacher.
