LEWISTON — The YWCA has a full schedule of swim lessons which are available mornings, afternoons, evenings and Saturday mornings. Registration is available now. Swim lessons will begin the week of Oct. 28. The Y also offers private and semi-private lessons.

Water babies, Puddle Jumpers and Parent & Tot classes are available for children ages 6 months through 35 months. These are water adjustment classes. Parents accompany their child in the water. YWCA staff will help parents select the appropriate class and there are many time slots during the week.
Water Explorers is for children 2 to 6 years who are afraid of being in the water and helps them conquer this fear. Parents accompany their child in the water.
Aquatots, Guppies, Jellyfish, Polliwog and Tadpole classes are all designed to help children from ages 3 to 15 learn and develop the skills to become proficient swimmers. Again, classes are paced for the age and ability level of each child and YWCA staff will help parents decide on the most appropriate level for their child.
American Red Cross Water Safety classes for stroke development, stroke refinement and fitness are also offered to youth.
Adult Lesson for adults (15 and older) who have never had swimming lesson or are still working on beginner strokes.
Conditioning Swim will begin on Oct. 8 through Nov. 14. This program is great for middle school and high school students, triathletes as well as competitive swimmers looking to improve their swimming skills or just get exercise. This is a coached work out designed to improve endurance, competitive strokes and efficiency.
