1942 – 2013

BIDDEFORD — Roland G. “Jigger” Giguere, 71, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, at Southridge Rehabilitation and Living Center in Biddeford.

He was born in Waterville on Feb. 12, 1942, a son of Gerard and Charlotte (LeClair) Giguere. Roland was a 1961 graduate of Waterville High School.

He managed Ware-Butler Lumber Co. in Livermore Falls, a family-owned business for many years, until his retirement in 1998.

Jigger was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. In his younger years, he greatly enjoyed scuba diving.

Roland was a member of many organizations, including the Honor Guard. He was a proud member of the Masons and was on the House Committee for the Elks Lodge in Farmington. Roland also volunteered with the Special Olympics for many years.

Roland is survived by his son, Jeff Giguere and wife, Kim; his daughter, Kim Brooks and partner, Raymond; four granddaughters, Tara, Kacey, Andrea and Caitlin; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey; his brother, Richard Giguere and wife, Mary Alice; two sisters, Rachael Cote and husband, Ray, and Elaine Giguere; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, including Jim and Carol Bouffard.
