1919 – 2013

RUMFORD — Theresa McDonald, 94, died Friday, Oct. 11, at the Rumford Community Home. She was a resident of Free Street in Rumford.

Born in Rumford on Aug. 22, 1919, she was a daughter of Camille and Hattie (Gagnon) Ross. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1939. She worked part-time at JCPenney and 27 years at Chandlers men’s clothing store.

She loved weekend family get-togethers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church and a former member of St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella.

She was married in Rumford on May 26, 1941, to Harold J. McDonald, who died in Lewiston on Jan. 26, 1998.

Survivors include a son, Robert McDonald and his wife, Lane, of Rumford; daughters, Sharon Folland and her husband, Robert, of Rumford, and Joanne Richard and her husband, Fern, of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; and brothers, Ted, Sylvio and Henry Ross.
