Children invited to trick or treat
NORWAY — Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation, 29 Marion Ave., invites children age 12 and under to trick or treat and visit the Haunted House and Graveyard from 6 to 7 p.m. Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31.
Ticket auction to benefit church
NORWAY — A ticket auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St.
Viewing will start at 3 p.m. and the auction will begin at 4:30 There will be gift items, collectibles, antiques, Christmas items and baked goods.
There are ticket envelope options to fit every budget. For more information, call the church office at 743-2290. All proceeds will benefit the missions of the church.
Community cancer forums
RUMFORD — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering community forums for anyone interested in sharing ideas about programs and services beneficial to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers in the Oxford Hills-River Valley area. There are four options to attend:
Monday, Nov. 4, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. at Community Concepts, 17 Market Square, South Paris.
Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Rumford Hospital, 420 Franklin St.; or 5 to 6 p.m. at Rumford Public Library, 56 Rumford Ave.
Light refreshments and door prizes will be available. Local volunteer opportunities will also be discussed. To register, call 795-8250.
Honey bee club to sponsor workshop
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will hold a workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
There will be a demonstration by Dee Farr on making facial cream, lip balm, and other items from honey and bee’s wax. Members will also answer questions on wintering bees. For more information, contact John at 743-5009 or Kevin at [email protected].
