Jones Band to play for dance

PARIS —  Dances will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, at the American Legion Hall, 12 Church St. Music will be provided by the Jones Dance Band. Cost is $5.

Society to host breakfast, raffle

WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society saw 30 in attendance for a picture show given by Milt Inman at the October meeting.

Last year’s officers were re-elected: Betty Jones, president; Ted Jones, vice president; and Elaine Emory, secretary/treasurer.

Members also worked on the hunter’s and family breakfast to be held from 5 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, and a black powder muzzle loading rifle raffle, with tickets only being sold during breakfast hours and the winner being drawn at 8:30 a.m. after the meal. The winner does not need to be present. Menu will be bacon, eggs, toast, home fries, pancakes and omelets.

Members will rent a table and sell Christmas items at the Agnes Gray School to support the Firemen’s Auxiliary.

The society will meet Monday, Nov. 18, with a surprise guest and the usual potluck supper at 6 p.m. For more information, call Betty Jones at 674-2507.

West Paris food pantry open

WEST PARIS —  The Neighborhood Niche Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St.

The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month. West Paris residents are invited to come once a month.

Spurrs Corner food pantry hours

OTISFIELD —  The food pantry at Spurrs Corner Church, Route 121, will be open Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The pantry is open to residents of Otisfield on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. For information, call 583-4780 or 627-4329.

Socrates Cafe meeting Monday
