TURNER — John B. “Jack” Flagg, 73, died Saturday, Nov. 9, at his home on Blue Hill Drive in Turner.
Born in Dixfield on May 31, 1940, he was a son of William and Isabelle (Dunsmoor) Flagg. He attended Rumford and Dixfield schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1958-60. He worked in local shoe factories and Eastern Fine Paper in Brewer in the shipping and receiving department.
He was married in Dixfield on Dec. 3, 1966, to Jody Hickey, who survives of Turner. Other survivors include sons, Larry Joe and his wife, Garnet, of Fort Smith, Ark., John of Ellsworth, Joseph of Bristol, Conn., Walter and his wife, Sherri, of Bangor and Daniel of Fryeburg; daughters, Christine Flagg of Lincoln and Bridget Glover of Belle Vernon, Pa.; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Flagg and his wife, Lillian, of Jay, Ernest Morgan of Wilton, Robert Morgan of Jay and Howard Morgan of Jay; sisters, Rose Cummings of Muldrow, Okla., Cleora Brewster of Lewiston, Myrtle Taylor and her husband, George, of Livermore Falls and Bertha Moreau and her husband, Jacques, of Livermore Falls.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a daughter, Melanie Payne, of Duncanville, Ala.
