1955 – 2013

AUBURN — Daniel F. Bernier, 58, a resident of Snow Avenue in Auburn, died unexpectedly at his home early Sunday morning, Nov. 17.

He was born in Lewiston on June 24, 1955, the son of Leo and Juliette (Lawrence) Bernier. Dan attended local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Lewiston High School. He was happily employed at the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store in Lewiston.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and his nephews. Dan was most proud of his family, and especially his new grandson, Teo.

Dan will be best remembered for his great smile and fierce personal loyalty to his family, friends and the Boston Red Sox.

Survivors include his mother, Juliette Bernier, of Lewiston; his wife, the former Doris Lepitre of Auburn, whom he married on Sept. 7, 1979; two daughters, Chantal Bernier and Michelle Dunham and husband, Kyle, and grandson, Teo, all of Auburn; two brothers, David Bernier and wife, Rachel, of Sabattus and Leo Bernier and wife, Diane, of Minot; and two sisters, Helene Bernier and John Sprague and Denise Chaput, all of Lewiston. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Leo, he was predeceased by his godson, Brian LaFrance; and his nephew, Mark Bernier.
