1929 – 2013

AUBURN — BeeJay Bedard died Wednesday, Nov. 6, at his Auburn home, with his wife by his side.

Born on Oct. 20, 1929, in Massena, N.Y., he graduated from Caribou High School and received his degree from the Boston School of Arts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was the assistant publisher and advertising director for two newspapers in Presque Isle. He was director of the Maine Department of Commerce and Industry in Augusta, and worked closely with the office of Gov. Ken Curtis on a myriad of programs investing and promoting economic growth in Maine. He was plant manager as well as production manager for many years with Twin City Printery.

As president of his own advertising agency, he held accounts throughout central and southern Maine. BeeJay was well-known for his artwork. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cheryl; a daughter, Lisa, and son-in-law, Raymond Frechette; a daughter, Amee Slye Albert; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Joshua Frechette; and stepchildren, Jeff, Jerry, Angela, Amy and Justin.

He was predeceased by his parents, Madlynn and Oscar Bedard.
