SOUTH PORTLAND — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland will host Catholic Women’s and Men’s Conferences at the DoubleTree Hotel on 363 Maine Mall Road.

The conferences aim to help guide and inspire Catholics to be rejuvenated in their faith at the start of the Advent season through days of prayer, reflection and community.

The Catholic Women’s Conference is set for from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The event’s featured speaker is Sonja Corbitt, a renowned Catholic author and speaker who has also produced a DVD-driven Bible study series that focuses on using scripture study to help others foster intimacy with God and to improve biblical literacy. The Women’s Conference will also include live performances by recording artist Sarah Kroger and will conclude with a Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. All women are welcome. The registration fee is $55. The Catholic Men’s Conference is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. The featured presenter will be Patrick Coffin, a dynamic speaker and host of the national radio show Catholic Answers Live. A former stage actor, Coffin has appeared on FOX, Comedy Central and EWTN, and has written for numerous newspapers and publications. The Men’s Conference will also conclude with a Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. All men are welcome to attend and the registration fee is $55. To register, call 207-321-7897.
