PARIS — An account has been set up at www.gofundme.com/5ra9lw to raise money for Titan Welch, a little boy with Treacher Collins syndrome, who will require several surgeries at Boston Children’s Hospital over the next several years.
The funds will defray some of the costs his parents, Israelle and Adam Welch, will face.
Titan was born May 1, 2012, with the rare disease called TCS, or Treacher Collins syndrome, which only affects one out of 50,000 and its even rarer in the United States.
Since his birth, Titan and his parents have begun taking trips to Boston Children’s Hospital to make plan for plastic surgery and other surgeries he will need in order to have a normal life. The process will cost thousands of dollars.
Faith Marquart, sister of Israelle, said they have also set up a Facebook page for him at www.facebook.com/goteamtitan and a twitter account @goteamtitan. They are also selling T-shirts.
The family resides in South Paris.
