1934 – 2013

AUBURN — Claude J. Robert, 79, of Schooner Estates, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, at his home.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 5, 1934, a son of the late Henri and Beatrice Lessard Robert. He was educated in Canadian and local schools, and served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean War. Claude married Jeannette E. Gauthier and was employed as a painter all of his life. He retired as a painter from Bath Iron Works after 19 years.

He and his wife lived in Florida for 14 years, returning to Maine just a few weeks ago. Claude enjoyed cars, fixing things and painting. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish at Sacred Heart Church and the American Legion, both here and in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette, of Auburn; a daughter, Tina Legee and husband, Joseph, of Turner; three grandchildren, Joseph Legee and wife, Michelle, Jerrica and Cooper; a great-grandson, Julyan; two sisters, Jeannine Rancourt and husband, Bernard, of Sabattus and Noella Robert of Lewiston; and three brothers, Camille, Richard and Michael Robert, all of Lewiston.
