HARRISON — The Harrison Parks and Recreation Department first Senior Social of the New Year will kick off  at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the fire station community room.

The social is being sponsored by the Harrison Lion’s Club . There will be a special performance by the Harrison Village Library at 12:30 p.m. The Reader’s Theatre, with Librarian Kathleen Kramer, along with Jane Riseman and Bill Wood, will present “The Wicked Good Guide to Mainah English.”

The meal will feature spaghetti and meatballs, garden salad, Italian bread, dessert, juice, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. There will be a guess jar, word games, maze puzzle and bingo with prizes.

If only interested in a meal, stop by at noon. If school is canceled due to a snow storm, the social will also be canceled.

New will be a game afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. called “Seniors Play Games” at the community room starting Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The new program will take place every Tuesday except the first Tuesday of the month, which is always the senior social and luncheon. There will be cribbage, board games and puzzles or bring a favorite games or puzzle. There will also be beverages and light snacks.
