LEWISTON — Finding a place for little ones to run around and play in the winter in Maine is tough, particularly this winter. The YWCA is offering a solution.

Every week day from 9 to 11 a.m., beginning Monday, Jan. 13, the YWCA will open its gym up for parents to come with their children, ages 2 to 5, to play. The Y has giant balls, a basketball hoop, ring toss game and more.

This is an unsupervised gym time so parents/caregivers must stay and play. The YWCA is offering the space and toys, but parents are welcome to bring toys as well. Groups are also welcome.

There is no need to register or call ahead of time.

Cost: Child basic membership of $30 per year; afterward, come as many times as you wish at no cost. This program will run only during the school year.
