Call for Artists who work from the human figure: “A Body of Work”
HALLOWELL — The Harlow Gallery in Hallowell has announced an open call for Maine artists who work from the human figure for an exhibition in April 2014 entitled “A Body of Work.”
The call is for art depicting the human body or inspired by the body. No portraits, head studies or erotic art please. Submissions will be reviewed by a curatorial committee comprised of Joe Klofas, organizer of life drawing sessions; artist Tanya Fletcher; and Harlow Gallery staff.
“A Body of Work” will be on view at the Harlow Gallery from April 4-26, with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 4.
The deadline for email submissions is 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.
To be eligible, artists should be residents of Maine at least part of the year or otherwise have a strong connection to our state. Artists submitting from out of state are responsible for the costs of shipping work to and from the Harlow.
There is an entry fee of $10 for members of the Kennebec Valley Art Association or $20 for non members; this allows each artist to submit up to 4 works of art. The fee is per artist not per work of art.
