NEW VINEYARD — A North New Portland man was injured Friday night when he lost control of the pickup truck he was driving and it crossed Route 27, becoming airborne.

It appeared the truck rolled twice and came to rest against a small tree, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said Monday, according to Deputy Kevin Hartley’s report.

John Wiese, 64, was partially ejected from the passenger window and received lacerations, he said. He was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

The 1995 Ford truck was heavily damaged in the 8:33 p.m. accident, he said.

NOTE: The article has been modified since it was published to reflect the correct last name of Deputy Kevin Hartley. It was a reporting error.
