LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen unanimously voted to renew Town Manager Kristal Flagg’s contract for three years following an executive session Tuesday.

The contract, which has not been written, will begin on July 1 and will run through June 30, 2017, she said.

Flagg, of Livermore Falls, began her duties as town manager July 1, 2011. She previously acted as interim town manager and maintained her town clerk/treasurer position when former Town Manager Jim Chaousis left in late 2010 for another town manager position in southern Maine.

Flagg was among 35 applicants for the position.

“The board felt that she was the best person for the position with her knowledge and long-term employment with the town, that she could do the job and hopefully we will have a long-term town manager and not just someone for a couple of years,” Board of Selectmen Chairman Bill Demaray said at the time.
