FARMINGTON — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension, Franklin County Office, will be holding a workshop on hayfield and pasture management for farmers and others who own such land to make it more productive and profitable.
The “Got Hayfields” workshops will be focused on how to best manage hayfields and pastures for producing high quality feed for livestock. Topics will include: managing soil fertility, hay and pasture renovation techniques, grazing management and the basics of forage quality.
Rick Kersbergen, Extension Educator from Waldo County, will be leading this series.
The workshop will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Farmington Grange, 124 Bridge St., Route 43 West, West Farmington.
The workshop is free, but donations to the Grange are appreciated for the use of their facility
