PARIS — The Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club and the Oxford Hills Rotary Club will hold the annual fundraising dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Tuscany Hall. Proceeds will support the Special Olympics. Music will be provided by the Road Kingz Band.

In 2008 Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club member Ray Brown met with a Rotary member, suggesting it would be a great idea to have both organizations work on a dance. Brown also suggested that it be a friendly competition, seeing which club sells the most tickets.

The first joint dance was held in April 2009. In June of 2009, Brown died as the result of an accident. In his honor, the dance is now the Kiwanis/Rotary Ray Brown Memorial Dance for Special Olympics.

Over the past five years, the organizations have donated about $8,500 to Special Olympics.

Tickets will be available at the door or from club members.
