LEWISTON — At 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12, Mystic Out-Bop Review will perform at The Room at Trinity. Band members are drummer Chico Valentine, bassist Kit Demos and saxophonist Alonzo Holliday.

With a common interest in free improv jazz, obscure world music, 1960s Italian soundtracks, outsider music and fellow new music performers, the trio has developed, a common musical base. With fluent lingua-musica they create performances by conversing in this language. Because of this intuited communication their spontaneous compositions often come off sounding like rehearsed written pieces, when in fact they are made up on the spot. The sounds range from a quiet textural sonic atmosphere to fiery aggressive free-jazz.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Snacks and beverages will be offered at intermission. A suggested $10 donation toward the artists and the many neighborhood ministries of Trinity Church may be made at the door; admission for kids is free. Trinity is at 247 Bates St., corner of Spruce St. next to Kennedy Park.
