LEWISTON — On Sunday, May 4, in Farmington and Sunday, May 18, in Auburn at 9 a.m., Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice will kick off their 2014 Hospice House 5K and Remembrance Walk with some new eco-friendly features.
The sixth annual fundraiser for AHCH’s Hospice House will be going green. What does this mean exactly? The world is going digital and so is their upcoming event.
The Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk has partnered with the industry-leading software platform Virtual Race Bags to provide their participants with a digital goody bag. Event organizers wanted to provide a more effective way for businesses and organizations to reach participants and to eliminate unnecessary waste from plastic bags full of paper.
Participants receive a welcome invitation email with a link to visit their goody bag a few days prior to the event. Participants can then visit the Virtual Goody Bag at their leisure, and view, save and redeem offers of personal interest. All participants receive access to a personalized bag and can act immediately or save offers for later, which they can use until the offer expiration date passes.
In addition to the Virtual Goodie Bag, the Hospice House 5K is offering a 100 percent biodegradable, organic tech-2 T-shirt to all participants.
Proceeds from event ensure that every patient can receive high-quality care and family support services from the Hospice House in Auburn, regardless of their ability to pay.
