AUGUSTA (AP) – Echoing the House of Representatives one day later, the Maine Senate agreed Friday to let voters decide in November whether a casino should be built in southern Maine.
The Senate vote against passing a citizen-initiated bill authorizing Maine’s Penobscot and Passamaquoddy Indians to build a $650 million gambling casino was 34-0.
On Thursday, by a tally of 85-55, the House declined to adopt the measure.
