1934 – 2014
JAY — Jeannine L., 79, a resident of Jay, passed away on Thursday, April 17, at her home, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Jay on Dec. 3, 1934, a daughter of Willie F. and Emma B. (Lacroix) Deshaies. Jeannine was a 1952 graduate of Jay High School. On Nov. 12, 1956, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 57 years, Donald Bryant, of Jay. Jeannine worked for Deshaies Market, Dr. Roger Perron, DDS, and was the office manager for Dr. Roger Kay, DDS, until her retirement in 1995. Following her retirement, she worked for the Ombudsman Program for nursing homes.
Jeannine was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to their home in Gulfport, Fla., gardening, singing and dancing, and especially time spent with her children, grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Bryant; her children, Kathryn McAninch and her husband, David, of Jay, Donna Bickford and her husband, Mark, of Jay, Peter Bryant and his wife, Sandy, of New Sharon, Darlene DiPompo and her husband, Dan, of Jay and Karen “Ka Ka” Bryant of Jay; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; sisters, Pauline Richard and her husband, Adrice, of Livermore Falls, Bernice DiSoto of Jay, Mary Ann “Mimi” Nelson and her husband, Richard, of Jay and Elaine Doiron and her husband, Norman M., also of Jay; sister-in-law, Cheryl Deshaies, of Jay; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Wilma Roy; and her brother, Willie Deshaies.
