1923 – 2014

RUMFORD — Dorothy Thibodeau Carrier, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loved ones. She was a resident of Congress Street in Rumford.

Born in Rumford on July 1, 1923, she was a daughter of Adelard and Clara (Richards) Thibodeau. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. During World War II, she worked as a Machinist for Oxford Paper Company in Rumford and later worked for Horizons Unlimited as a C.R.M.A. for 20 years.

Dorothy was a communicant of the Parish of The Holy Savior, St. Athanasius St. John Church in Rumford. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved sewing and crafts.

She was a proud mom of her seven children. Survivors include two daughters, Patty Perry and her fiancé, Jeff Knight, of Rumford, Denise Chessie of Dixfield; four sons, Gerald Carrier and his wife, Eleanor, of Nev., Philip Carrier and his companion, Elaine Tibbetts, of Dixfield, Denis Carrier of Augusta, Marcel and his wife, Nancy, of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her former husband, Emile Carrier; a daughter, Jeanne Carrier; two sisters, Lorraine Clifford and Eva Thibodeau; and a brother Theodore Thibodeau.
