NAPLES, Fla. — Alice Clark Beliveau, of Naples, Fla., and formerly of Rumford, died on Friday, April 11.
Born on March 17, 1938, in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Clement and Margaret (Cullen) Clark. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Maplewood, N.J., and then to Sea Girt, N.J. She attended Oak Knoll School in Summit, N.J., and Trinity College in Washington, D.C., graduating from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in history.
Alice was married in Summit, N.J., on Aug. 31, 1963, to Albert “Darby” Beliveau. The couple returned to Rumford to start a family and a law practice. While raising and educating five children, Alice was involved with the Rumford Book Club and Searchlight Club. Her hobbies included golf, watercolor painting and traveling.
She served as a board member and chairwoman of the Rumford Public Library. Alice also served as president of the Moorings Women’s Golf Association in Naples, Fla., and was a member of the Naples Art Association.
Alice is survived by her husband; five children, Margaret “Meg” and her husband, Paul Gale, of Jericho, Vt., Mark and his wife, Laura, of Hanover, N.H., Richard of Scarborough, John and his wife, Sarah, of Falmouth and Matthew of Burlington, Vt.; grandsons, Noah, Colin, Sam and Eamon; granddaughters, Cathleen, Devyn, Riley and Svieta: brothers, David of South Berry, Conn., and Richard of Short Hills, N.J.; and sisters, Mary Wilkison of Snoqualamie, Wash., and Margaret Waterman of Temple, N.H.
