DIXFIELD — Discussions on the recent Community Development Block Grant denial and a new cemetery mower are on the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 28 selectmen’s meeting at Ludden Memorial Library.
Interim Town Manager Eugene Skibitsky said during Thursday evening’s annual town meeting that the town was denied the CDBG they applied for in March.
The CDBG would have granted the town $500,000 towards a $1.8 million upgrade of water, sewer and drainage systems on six streets that was approved at a special town meeting in July 2013.
Skibitsky added that the town will be moving forward with the water, sewer and drainage upgrades, despite not receiving the $500,000 CDBG grant, since voters gave selectmen authority to borrow money for the project when they approved it last year.
In other business, selectmen will look over different options for a new lawn mower several months after a fire destroyed their lawn mower at Riverside Cemetery.
Public Works director Calvin Beaumier said at the April 14 selectmen’s meeting that he was looking for which company had the best deal for a lawn mower.
