NORWAY — As part of its Health Care is a Human Right campaign, the Southern Maine Workers’ Center will offer a training session on building the campaign in Maine from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at the Commons, 447 Main St.

The group is asking two questions: Do you believe that everyone in Maine should have access to the health care they need? Do you think health care should be a public good and not a commodity that only some can afford?

If your answer is “yes,” the Workers’ Center invites you to an informal meeting where you will learn about tools for building the Health Care is a Human Right campaign.

The agenda includes training on how to conduct a survey on people’s health care experiences and to collect their stories.

Lunch will be provided.

The Southern Maine Workers’ Center is part of a statewide campaign to ensure the human right to health care. According to its statement, “To win we need to build a base of support in every county in Maine – from our small towns to our big cities. We’re collecting people’s health care stories and building the collective power of our voices to transform the health care system in Maine.” The group wants to “identify supporters and move them to action.”

Anyone planning to be at the training session should respond to [email protected] or call 200-7692 and indicate if child care is needed. The website is www.maineworkers.org.

The Public Interest Forum of Norway is helping with arrangements.
