BANGOR — Rita Jolin Colburn, 89, died Monday, May 26, at Westgate Manor in Bangor. She was a resident of North Street in Dixfield.

Born in Rumford on Jan. 13, 1925, she was a daughter of Albert and Germaine Jolin. She attended Rumford schools, and worked at Diamond Match and Rumford Community Hospital in dietary and central supply.

Rita was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford. She was a member of Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club in Rumford; St. Timothy Circle No. 504, Daughters of Isabella; Rumford Falls Aerie No. 1248, Fraternal Order of Eagles; Napoleon Ouellette Unit No. 24, American Legion Auxiliary; and was a former member of the Sons of Italy in Rumford.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and traveling, and was well-known for sending out cards.

Rita was married to Michael Marcellino, Delmar Morgan and William “Snuffy” Colburn, all of whom predeceased her.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary Burgess Belisle and her husband, Robert, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Mary-Ann Hamilton and her husband, Edward, of Newburgh; a son, Robert John Burgess and his wife, Mary Jane, of Proctor, Vt.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Ronald A. Burgess; a daughter, Melody A. Stinchfield; brothers, Leo “Buster” Jolin and Henry Jolin; and a sister, Julie Curry.
