WILTON — The community Summer Kick-Off Barbecue planned for Friday, June 13, at Kineowatha Park has been canceled due to a forecast of rain.
A midsummer event may be planned, according to park and band schedules, Corey Black, an organizer, said.
Hosted by the Wilton Events Committee, previous barbecues have attracted about 450 people. This year, plans were to enjoy the music of Shepherd’s Pie along with the barbecue.
“We also had some tug of war events and a Wilton’s best cookie contest planned,” Black said.
Some setup at the park was planned for Thursday and it’s supposed to rain, she said. And the forecast is for a storm Friday, she said.
