As long as there are homeless Mainers and those in need of help who live here — most of whom have paid taxes to the state of Maine — I am very much against aid to undocumented immigrants.
How did they get here?
Many came from other states, but it costs money to travel. Let those who encouraged them to come to Maine now support them.
Programs benefiting Mainers are constantly being cut. Other countries get aid from the federal government, but the states get cuts.
Illegal means illegal. Shame on the ACLU and Rep. Mike Michaud. If they feel so strongly about aid, beyond food to illegals, let them support the illegals.
It is about time to realize that Gov. Paul LePage is talking sense.
